Bike Farm is an all volunteer-run collective dedicated to every aspect of bicycle education, from safe commuting to repair. Their missions is to provide a space where people can learn about the bicycle and build community around promoting sustainable transportation. They strive to demystify the bicycle in order to impact the city in a healthy and positive way.
Why donate to them?
They're all volunteers. Their space is solely funded by public donations. Four days a week, their shop and tools are open to the public so everyone can learn the beauty of working on their own bike.
What your donation is going to:
Bike Farm is starting a new Bike Building program! The program is designed to assist in-need members of the community with a real need for transportation. Individuals will learn the ins-and-outs of bike building by building two bikes for the shop, and the third for themself at no cost. This program not only teaches important repair skills to the rider, but helps the collective grow through used bikes sales. This program hopes to directly serve low income individuals in our Portland Communities.
Why love them..
Knowledge is empowering and they share it. Both Collin and Ashley are teachers, and in their teaching to work to provide access and education to kids on bikes. The Bike Farm is actively working to provide access to bikes for those in need of them. It's an important goal, and one we both feel passionately about. We're hoping to raise $2,000+ to help launch this program!

Shift the Balance! is CLF's campaign aimed at creating a transportation system for people, not cars. It targets on our region's big plan—the Regional Transportation Plan, which determines what projects will receive federal and state transportation funds and the big project—the Columbia River Crossing effort to rebuild the I-5 bridges spanning the Columbia River. Shift the Balance is about rebalancing the system, finding the sweet spot between the full costs of transportation, convenience, and community so that people have choices and our communities are healthier.
The Regional Equity Atlas Project is CLF’s effort to ensure that Portland’s approach to sustainability equally integrates equity, environmental and economic considerations. Currently, the region’s planning approach tends to focus on places or people, rather than striking a balance between the two. The Regional Equity Atlas Project aims to advance equity – the full inclusion of all communities in our region’s shared prosperity and long-term sustainability—as we pursue a sustainable future.
Why we love them...
They're working hard to unite members of the community who can parnter together to make real, and constant change. Their resources and community networking are essentail to help groups fighting for space, funding, and services in the Portland area. By working interdependently, we can accomplish more. Help us raise over $2,000 for this organization!
